WHY IS A REWIRE IMPORTANT?
Over the last 25 years there has been multiple changes to guidelines and legislation with regards to wiring a property making many of todays properties outdated. These changed have been implemented in order to increase electrical safety within domestic properties.

For example all new electrical installations require RCD (residual current detection) protection. RCD protection ensures that in the event someone is being electrocuted it is detected within milliseconds and the power shuts off preventing serious injury or death.

During the rewire we also add additional sockets to every room to facilitate modern day electrical needs. this ensures you don't have to use dangerous extensions or adaptors in your home.
WHAT WE REQUIRE FROM YOU
The Electrician will let you know where he needs to be able to access and where to move your belongings to allow the rewire to take place. He will also advise you that your loft needs to be empty for a rewire to be carried out. All of the upstairs lighting goes through the loft and he cannot rewire this if it is full of belongings.
DISTURBANCE ALLOWENCE
We also need to get under the floorboards on the first floor. Unfortunately if you have any hard flooring you will have to remove this. We will roll carpets back but we will just place them back down and you may need to get a carpet fitter in after we have finished. You will get a disturbance allowance for the Council that will help to cover any costs you may incur.
